Garlic

I sometimes find garlic and onions can give me indigestion. I realised when we lived in France that the garlic there was easier on my stomach. Now I always hunt down European-grown fat purple garlic rather than the skinny white Chinese stuff sold in supermarkets. I was really glad to find this chunky bulb at my nearest market - and it was grown locally.

Since writing this page, the 'indigestion' symptoms got worse and I identified another culprit in addition to onions and garlic - apples. This led to me doing some online research and finding the low FODMAP diet which was developed in Australia, I think, to combat IBS.
